Day 1: Tree {IPS}

1/25sec, f5.6, ISO: 400, 28mm

Every year, our Christmas tree sits in front of panoramic windows, and I take pictures of the light hitting the tree at different times of day. I love watching the light hit the glass ornaments and seeing the branches of the tree reflecting the golden afternoon sunlight. But perhaps my favorite angle of the tree is looking up from the floor. As a child, we look at Christmas with eyes full of wonder. Everything seems so exciting and grand. Often, that wonder is lost as we grow older and get caught in the rush of the often commercialized holiday. When I look up at the tree through the eyes of a little child, I am reminded of the wonder and excitement that we should feel with Christmas, not because of the packages waiting under the tree, but because of the One the holiday celebrates, and how magnificent HE is.
