Day IV: Wonder {IPS}

Who doesn't love snow?! Every time I wake up to a white morning, I can't stop looking out the window and feeling absolutely anxious to run out in it! And you can always tell it snowed because the ceiling has a different color hue to it? It's so much fun.

It doesn't snow here. I live in Texas in a small farm town. We have fields of cotton, not snow.

To me, a white Christmas is a cotton field ready to harvest. A whole town of cotton fields. It's always beautiful to me, no matter how many times I see it. To see a plant grown from the time the seed is planted in June until the cotton is stripped in December is something I would define as "wonder."

Spunky, fun loving, fashion conscious, hard working, and athletic - my 13 year old sister fits all of these descriptions. If I need a shopping partner, Sarah is ready to go. If I need someone to run or swim laps with, she is game. She will swim just as fast, just as far and just as long. If we are running, she will try to outrun me. For her birthday, she *had* to have a white watch. She has helped me out of a bind numerous times, washing my truck, gathering props for photo shoots, bringing me things on the go, and helping me gather all of my junk in time to catch a flight. We took a few shots of her in the cotton field (gotta love west texas) a couple weekends ago - maybe I am biased but I love these, even if they do all have the same look. Enjoy :)

A 1965 Ford mustang...

Picture a 1965 302 Ford Mustang, a double digit speed we will not say, and me hanging on for dear life.... What is the missing element? The driver.

And, Phil was driving...everything makes sense now, right? We both came back alive - a tribute to my words of caution spoken just in time.

It really was not that bad, but for a minute, I thought it was going to be.

Mr. Gunset is a friend of mine who collects old cars. A few years ago, he invited me out to take pictures of his 1931 Chevy Plymouth (I hope I'm getting the year right on that), an old Chevy pickup, his corvette, a Mazda Miata and a 1939 Chevy Hard Top Model-A. A few weeks ago when Phil was here, we went out and spent the morning looking at cars, driving them around and visiting with Jerry and his granddaughter. I love cars and wanted Phil to see these and I also wanted him to meet someone that I really appreciate and who has done a lot for me and my family. Mr. Gunset and his wife are retiring soon and plan to spend a couple months traveling next year - knowing them, they will have a lot of adventures!

Kyle + Jessica {Wedding}

Kyle and Jessica chose not to have a first look. Their first look came as Jessica's father walked her down the aisle to marry the man of her dreams. She and Kyle had met only nine months before, but they each knew the other was the "one." I have been to very few weddings where the bride and groom were so happy and so in love the entire day. Their excitement poured into every detail and overflowed in every glance and touch they exchanged. I had the privilege of second shooting with Sarah Eddy of Sarahdipity Photos - enjoy!

Mr. and Mrs. Kyle Sexton!

I love these shots. They were adorable together and so happy.

Congratulations to you both! All the best to you in your future~

Sneak Peak: Jessica {bridal portraits}

Jessica and her maid of honor arrived at the reception hall full of energy. They knew exactly what kind of images they wanted and were easy to shoot. Seriously, how cute is she?! Her and her twin sister were stunning, and Jordan knew exactly how to make Jessica laugh and look her very best for her portraits. This was my first wedding to ever shoot at - Sarah Eddy, thank you for giving me the opportunity to shoot with you! I left with a list of pointers, ideas, and a few images for my portfolio too. :)

Joshua's Birthday {personal}

Happy birthday last Monday to one of my favorite people in this life! He brightens my day, every day. And he's seven years old. :)

party cake! how cute is this?

the boys were happy and thrilled with their icing colored tongues.

it colored our teeth too

the boys each received 10 legos and had a contest to see who could build a moving "car" the fastest with his random assortment

birthday boy gets the stick?

Connor had a good time too.

and the hit of the party? trading silly bands in their favor bags at the end. that's one trend i might never understand, but someone is rich because of it!

In other news, I am still waiting on my 7D. It came back from canon, and wouldn't power on. I sent it off again yesterday along with the charger, and my old and brand new battery. Hopefully it will actually work when it comes back. I don't know how I shot with a rebel XT until earlier this year! I guess you work with what your budget lets you work with, but I sure am missing my camera.
